Hi campers! Finally, a break in the weather! Cool, moist air is drenching our gardens. I’ve been on the tail of a whirlwind. Meetings with the Perennial Plant Association, Cultivate Trade Show, the FarWest Trade Show, and the Garden Communicators Convention have left me depleted! It’s all in the game of seeing what’s new in technology and especially what’s new in plants. Our lace-leaved Heuchera Dragon FyreWings™ are flying off the shelf. Monrovia’s entire production of FyreWings™ was sold in one day! Yowsah! BTW, if you are a commercial customer, you must see the new plant trials area at Monrovia’s facilities in Dayton, Oregon. First class all the way! Ok, Dan, relax…
Today’s GardenSmart introductions are new, but out for sale. Monrovia had our Echinacea ‘Fringe Benefit’ absolutely grown to perfection as well as our Echinacea Revelation™ ‘Monarch’ on display. The revolution that is Revelation™ is the flower size. Aside from great colors, the flowers on our vernalized plugs looked more like sunflowers in the 7”+ range! We’ll cover Echinacea Revelation™ ‘Coral’ as well. Heuchera ‘Changeling’™ is also on our list today as a plant with a difference: it’s always changing colors! Umber to pink, with a silver background, short petioles, and large leaves which make this a distinctive plant generating a lot of positive chatter on social media.
Here’s the link to our 2027 catalog, and it’s a BIG NEW release! This is a big launch for us for a familiar genus with an incredible new form- and in colors! Linked below, is a colorful and informative magazine. You will learn about the ways of our breeding and witness the remarkable introductions we have introduced over the last thirty-four years. Besides, there’s a lot of groovy pictures, container combos and especially gigantic installations in Australia and China that use our plants on a huge scale.
Come explore these three remarkable offerings by the ORIGINAL innovators: Terra Nova™.

Echinacea Revelation™ ‘Coral’
The Revelation series were bred as large landscape plants to have sturdy stems and grow in a mounding habit with good foliage cover. Extra-large, long lasting, stunning coral-pink flowers crown this stunning plant. Deep green foliage drapes perfectly to the soil, hiding the stems. REVELATION® ‘Coral’s flowers are also BIG on fragrance, and a favorite of Bumbles. Without a doubt, this could be the start of something big! Vigorous! Hardy in USDA zones four to nine. The flowering stems grow to thirty inches high by thirty inches wide by twenty-four inches high in their first season. Full sun for best flowering, blooming from June to October! Butterflies love them! Remember that fragrance is not for you, it’s there to attract the pollinators.
It’s a big one, just like you requested. Like its sister, Echinacea REVELATION® ‘Coral,’ REVELATION® ‘Monarch’ demands attention in the garden. ‘Monarch’s’ warm peachy-orange tones light up a garden bed like nothing else. The huge warm peach‑orange flowers with dark red centers are well scented and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and all sorts of pollinator insects. The large center cone has hosts of goldfinches visiting in the fall, gathering a snack as they pass through. Hardy in USDA zones four to nine. The flowering stems grow to thirty inches high by thirty inches wide by twenty-four inches high in their first season. Full sun for best flowering, blooming from June to October!. A team favorite at Terra Nova!
A most curious Heuchera! 'Changeling' is so named because of the unique characteristic of changing colors every week or so. From top to bottom, new colors emerge. New foliage starts off blushing peach and cherry and changes to champagne and taupe, finally ending up with several shades of celadon green, pine, and moss. The strong H. americana bloodline enhances this plant with a sharp, silver veil that highlights the contrasting veins. Hardy in USDA zones four to ten. The flower stems grow to fourteen inches high by sixteen inches wide by nine inches high (before flowering) in their first season. Full sun to partial shade, blooming from May to June. Loved by many bees and hummers too!
