Tulips are synonymous with Holland! A highlight of every beautiful spring tulip festival season in Holland is the Dutch Tulip Parade. For six months, from the 14th of April to the 9th of October in 2022, Floriade will become a world stage for all things green. The theme for 2022’s Floriade Expo is “Growing Green Cities,” and will shine a spotlight on how horticulture will play a major role in cities of the future. This amazing event includes presentations from 40 countries, a spectacular greenhouse complex, a cable car over the luscious Floriade park, pavilions with sustainable innovations, as well as a vibrant arts and culture program. Be inspired as you take a stroll through a living library of trees, plants, and flowers, or visit the greenhouse complex where Dutch Horticulture is on glorious display, among many other exhibits. This Expo will be the permanent beginnings of a new city district, close to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, called Almere. Another rare event taking place in 2022 is the Oberammergau Passion Play. Occurring every ten years on a stage set against a backdrop of breathtaking vistas, the villagers of Oberammergau, Germany perform one of the most unique Passion Plays in the world by incorporating the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ with their own tragic story.
