Hottest New Plants from Terra Nova: A Terrific Trio

Hottest New Plants from Terra Nova: A Terrific Trio

Hey campers! School’s out! We at Terra Nova are preparing for an onslaught of visitors during the Far West Show where we will be hosting an open house in Canby. If you are in the industry, please join us! You’ll see firsthand, all of the latest offerings and Echinacea should be in their prime. We’ll also be at Cultivate ’25, the largest wholesale nursery trade show in the US. Worth the trip to Columbus, Ohio!

But I digress. We are jazzed to offer a tantalizing trio following in the footsteps of their brethren already in the industry. Native to the ϋber dry states of Arizona and New Mexico, Agastache were just an annual offered by a few nurseries. They bloomed for a good period and died with the first frost. We at Terra Nova saw the potential for this genus as there were a number of hardy species we could mold into a new genus for horticulture. There are now a number of nurseries (even the big boys) working on new cultivars. Agastache ‘Pink Pearl’ has made waves with its profusion of large pink flowers from late spring to frost. We are now following up with Agastache ‘Peach Pearl’ to add a new flavor to our menu of hardy plants. Echinacea KISMET ™ ‘Kiwi’ joins the Kismet clan of perfect Echinaceas. These are highly awarded, well-branching, fragrant pollinator magnets. Our third member of the triumvirate is Kniphofia POCO™ ‘Butter Brickle.’  This beauty adds a new shade of tawny yellow to our dwarf line of pokers that is beyond yummy. Bumblebees and hummingbirds will thank you.

Come to www.terranovanurseries.com and download our latest catalog (You’ve got to see it!) So many cool plants! Our 2025-2026 Catalog will be downloadable within a month.

Come explore three remarkable offerings by the ORIGINAL innovators: Terra Nova.

Agastache ‘Peach Pearl’

Here’s a great companion for the outrageously popular ‘Pink Pearl.’ Peachy-orange flowers have smothered this plant for months. You can expect the blooms from June through September without taking a breath. Same great habit as ‘Pink Pearl’ with lovely aromatic foliage. The multitudinous flowers rise to sixteen inches high on a globe-like mound sixteen inches across. Excellent downy mildew-resistant foliage, too. Hardy in USDA zones six to ten and is showy in outdoor containers or en masse in a bright garden location. One of our best introductions to date, a garden and perennial bed must-have! Mix with Echinacea ‘Cantaloupe’ for a one-two punch! Pollinators go nuts for this one!

Echinacea KISMET ™ ‘Kiwi’

Unique spider mum-type flowers on tall, strong stems are two of the splendid features for this plant.

It joins a series of coneflowers with an award-given pedigree and similar habits. The unusual green color is mellow yet showy, like the flesh of a melon. Great as a cut flower or garden plant. Masses of flowers rise to twenty-seven inches high on a globe-like mound eighteen inches across. Hardy in USDA Zones four to nine and is showy in outdoor containers or en masse in a bright garden location. You can expect the blooming period from June to October. Truly a brand-new novelty!

Kniphofia POCO™ ‘Butter Brickle’

Orange-tipped, deep, butterscotch-gold flowers cover this more compact poker plant from June through October. Stiffly upright foliage stays neat when not in flower. Full sun is recommended for best form. Flowers fall away cleanly as they age, to help keep this plant looking fresh all the time. Continuous flowering spring through frost. The flowers rise to twenty-six inches high on an upright but compact habit, twenty-one inches wide by twenty-one inches high. Excellent for gardens and as a specimen in a container. Hardy in USDA zones six to nine.
