When you buy a blooming potted plant, it’s nice to have longevity. Princettia euphorbia hybrids from Suntory Flowers have a different look and outstanding keeping quality that make it easy to transition from the holiday season to everyday home décor.
Princettia varieties produce clusters of smaller bracts that are less prone to damage. There are two sizes – compact/standard and Princettia Queen, which size up more like a traditional poinsettia. The color palette spans the crisp pure white to shades of pink – soft, bright and dark. Traditional red is also available in two shades – Princettia Red, which is more cranberry in tone, and Pure Red, more like the traditional Christmas color. Princettia Pure White is by far the best seller, because it is white as a sheet of paper without creamy yellow undertones.
For home décor, you can go pale or neutral with the white and soft pink or make a bright cheery statement with the hot pink or dark pink. They fit in nicely with your collection of green houseplants and will brighten your home all winter.
Style Tips
Pick Your Pots – Choose a nice set of durable decorative cache pots in neutral, earthy colors to fit in with your home accents. Think off-white, charcoal, bronze, brass, warm browns. Consider textures and finishes, too – rustic or polished, ceramic or resin, even hammered or galvanized metals. Also consider shapes – round, square or oblong for several plants. Ideally, you could just drop the plastic pot in and not have to replant.
Create Ambiance – Add a few votive candles near your pretty plant on a table. Set the scene with fatter pillar candles. Or go for old fashioned with tapered, slender candle sticks or a candelabra. For Christmas, scatter a few ornaments or baubles, or add pine boughs and pinecones.
Choose Your Setting – After the holidays, you can place Princettia with your house plants, set it by the hearth or on plant stands or more decorative tables and credenzas. Consider brightening your boudoir by placing a pretty pink one on your vanity or nightstand!
Care Tips
Princettia poinsettias require the same care as other poinsettia varieties:
Don’t overwater. Allow the soil to dry slightly before watering thoroughly. Pour out excess water that collects in a decorative basket or foil wrap. Do not allow to sit in standing water.
Place the plant in bright indirect light. Remove or bend down the foil wrap to allow light to reach the entire plant.
Keep plants away from drafts of hot and cold air.
