Show #13/6713. Choosing The Correct Plant

Cool Wave Pansies

To Eric nothing says fall more than pansies. He’s had a love affair with pansies for decades, their range of color, their vibrancy, the way they light up a space is outstanding. But pansies reliably do what pansies do, until now, these are totally different, trailing pansies, you must be kidding. Martin says these are Cool Wave pansies and what sets them apart form traditional pansies instead of being upright and mounding Cool Wave pansies actually trail. So you get that trailing attribute with a cascade of color throughout the fall, winter and early spring. When you think of flower power during the cool months there aren’t many options, there are few things that work, especially during those cool months. Things we can plant in hanging baskets things that will give the trailing effect it’s a list of very, very few things. This opens up whole new way pansies can be used. Eric is super excited about this he already has a list of 5 or 6 ideas for his own garden where Cool Wave pansies are going to be plugged in. Cool Wave pansies really do provide color during the winter where we’re very limited and Cool Waves are available in a myriad of colors, purple, yellow, white and they perform consistently throughout the season and continue to trail and continue to be floriferous throughout. It’s exciting for Eric, as a gardener, anytime there is a new innovation with one of these classic plants that we define how it’s been used in the garden, through breeding programs, it opens up a lot of new opportunities. He loves it. It’s a great product.
