Every week we get gardening questions from our viewers and one we see a lot is - What are the best tools for irrigation and for watering in my garden.
Eric has some answers and these are some of his favorites - When he was the assistant manager of the horticultural greenhouse at the University of Georgia he remembers very, very fondly these Dramm aluminum water breakers with the brass shut off. If this looks old it’s because Eric has had it for almost 20 years, they last forever. They’re super durable, he would say this is the go-to watering nozzle. This is their aluminum 400 they make a 170 which is a finer one, so if you need more directional control, a little less water, it’s a finer pattern that would be great. Eric thinks this is a must have for every gardener.

Moving to some of the larger volume watering heads, the Brass Rose Water Breaker is a 4 inch watering head which is on the 24 inch extension handle. They have handles that range from 16 inches all the way up to 72 inches.

Another watering tool Eric loves is the One Touch Revolution Nine Pattern Spray Gun. It has so many different watering patterns - it has fan, stream, shower, rain, cone, angle and has a wonderful proprietary shut off valve. Super simple, it can do almost everything you need to do in your garden.

Another tool every gardener needs is a great hose. The attachments he has just shown don’t do anything if we don’t have a hose to put them on. Dramm also makes a beautiful ColorStorm Premium Hose, it’s super durable, which comes in a of myriad colors.

Eric also likes to use the Dramm soaker hoses for different applications. The Color Storm Premium Soaker Hose is great. Eric has a number of these soaker hoses so when he is getting his vegetable garden started, even throughout the season this is a great way to keep the water right where you want it.

There is also a tree soaker hose. It is wonderful for transplanting, it’s so important for the tree to have the water it needs when they need it, especially when moving them around.

Last but not least Eric wants to talk about the ColorStorm Turret Sprinkler. It’s wonderful, especially for smaller spaces when you want a lot of control over where the water is going. It has 10 different settings if you want a very specific pattern to control exactly where the water falls it is a very intelligent way of using water. It reduces waste and keeps the water right where you want it. Which is perfect.
