Suntory Texas Summer Double

Abelias have always been tough plants. Because of this, they became quite common. Along comes Bronze Anniversary Abelia, a very uncommon shrub. The white blooms emerge in spring and intermittently throughout the summer. Bronze Anniversary Abelia - Abelia grandiflora is a very strong bloomer. This is not its most valuable landscape attraction, though.

What's its most valuable attraction? It's the foliage! The foliage emerges a unique bronze-orange color and then matures to an attractive lime-gold as the season progresses. Butterflies and hummingbirds love the nectar-producing white bellflowers. On the other hand, deer will avoid it.

Bronze Anniversary Abelia is great for foliage interest in the landscape, shrub, or perennial border and in containers. Bronze Anniversary, a deciduous shrub, blooms on new wood, so a little pruning helps force new growth. It is hardy in USDA Zones 6-9 in part sun to full sun.
